Day 7

Took the neck billet out of the clamps. It was too wide to run across the jointer to cleanup the FB surface, so I traced the FB and head profile and band sawed within 1/2".

Then ran FB surface across the jointer. Nice and flat.

Attached it to the head plate surface jig and ran it on the router table.

Flat sanded to remove any milling marks

Day 6

Glued the neck pieces together.
Tried to keep the fingerboard surfaces coplanar.

Day 5

I decided to do a 2 piece mahogany neck with a rosewood center strip.

Planed both sides of neck pieces (bass and treble sides)

Passed the newly planed surfaces over the jointer. These will be the glue surfaces so I wanted them nice and flat/straight.

Then jointed the fingerboard surface.

Here's a dry fit picture with the mark out patterns. Hard to see, but there's a rosewood piece between the two mahogany pieces.

Day 4

I radiused 4 cocobolo fingerboards. Gonna choose one for my Warthog I'm building. Aaron will slit the FB on his shopbot.

Use double stick tape to attach to fixture.

Used the sled and router combo.

Finished hand sanding with 12" radius sanding block.
